36 week ultrasound & nesting

About two weeks ago we got to see our little babe's face once more before we meet him for reals and I just can't stop staring at him. His little chubby, squishy cheeks, nose, and face are going to be kissed more than a million times a day. And don't worry, he was still doing his signature hands in front the face (we're lucky we got a face shot). Needless to say, we are already obsessed with this little guy.

I am now 38 weeks which means that we could meet our baby boy any day now. I thought that I would leave my job early so I could relax and enjoy the last moments Cam and I will have together before the baby...but the truth is that, ever since I left, I just can't seem to relax. Everything either needs to be cleaned, laundered, sanitized, organized, decorated, etc. And if it doesn't need any of those I find myself going a little insane trying to find something to do. I think that this is that "burst of energy" that they told us about in our lamaze class, haha! I have embodied the definition of nesting.

Ironically, amidst this burst of energy, I have also been lacking in the sleep department. I have been forcing myself to not take naps during the day and to stay up a little later than my internal clock is telling me to just so that I can get a full nights sleep. If I don't completely wear myself out during the day, you can expect me to be wide awake around about 5:45am which is not ideal to me. Sleepless nights are definitely helping me adjust to the sleepless nights ahead. I, myself, don't believe me when I say that I used to sleep through ANYTHING. I was actually worried about having a baby because I thought I would never wake up for it but nope! Mother Nature has definitely had her way and changed that completely. I dream of the day that I will be able to sleep on my stomach again. Oh, and if I'm not awake going pee for the 5th time, or just uncomfortable, the thoughts of giving birth also tend to keep me awake. I'm slowly coming to terms with it though. This baby's gotta get here somehow, right?

Besides my little complaints here and there and all the hustle and bustle of getting ready for the baby, it has all been so worth it. I feel so lucky with how well this pregnancy has gone and for our healthy baby. He is already the biggest blessing in our lives and I am so ready and so excited at this point.

Let the countdown begin.

our first year

ONE YEAR! I know, it's crazy!
How has a year already come & gone right before our eyes?
I feel like it was just yesterday that I put on a white dress and married the best boyfriend ever {he still is, btw}.
To celebrate our first anniversary, Cam and I took a little road trip to Las Vegas making a few stops along the way. We didn't really have a concrete plan besides the nights that we booked in Vegas so we pretty much just did whatever our hearts desired for a week! It was so great—no work, just fun.  We love this summer in Logan but once in a while you've just gotta get out.

First of all, we kicked off our trip by digging into our frozen cake.. which we only took one bite of. haha

Our trip started by heading up to a place that is near & dear to my heart: West Yellowstone. We stopped at Mesa falls on the way and then saw Beauty and the Beast at the Playmill Theatre. This show was extra fun to watch for me because the last time the playmill put it on, I was just lucky enough to be in it :)

Then we started in the direction of Vegas but we couldn't resist a little stop at Lagoon. Neither one of us had been in a really really long time so we had been wanting to do this for a while now. Going on all the rides made me realize that my body just can't handle those crazy rides the way that it used to! At least now I know which rides to avoid.

Our next stop was St. George. We won a free rental at The Beach at Sand Hollow so we had a little night of boating, surfing and swimming with friends which was the perfect way to escape the suffocating desert heat!

{we also stopped at the narrows on our way back from Vegas, which took a little bit of a pep-talk to get through. ha!}

And then, we finally made it to Vegas where we relaxed, shopped, and ate, a lot. We also visited the Vegas sign which surprisingly neither on of us had done before.

It was so much fun to take a trip with just the both of us. It made me especially reminiscent of our honeymoon {watch here}. I am so happy and thankful every day that I married a boy who I love more and more everyday. I thought I loved him as much as I could possibly on the day I married him but I love him 365x more than that now. Even though we are not perfect people, I know that we are perfect for each other.

happy One-Year to us!

I thought I might be good at blogging for a sec and then I started having wayyyyy too much fun.
haha no but really, this summer has been close to the top in best summers to ever have happened in my life.

AND since I don't really feel like recapping (is that a word?) it all
and you probably don't feel like reading all that nonsense
I'm just going to tell it in a rhyme with pictures that I took on my phone over the summer.

a spiel about playmill

Not that I am taking a break from my extremely busy schedule right now or anything
but it is still a long weekend and a reason to get out of town!

I'm heading up to Island park for a weekend with my family & some friends
and so so excited to go back to my home of all last summer,
West Yelli!
The Playmill Theatre opens this weekend with High School Musical and I can't wait to see it!
{If you've never been to the playmill––GO! you won't regret it}

It'll be a little bittersweet sitting in the audience after a whole summer of working there.
I might have to restrain myself from flirting with 80 year-old men and little boys during the sing-a-long.
It'll be strange to just sit back and enjoy the show without having to sell concessions or do a set change.
...alright, maybe it'll be really bittersweet.
But when you sleep, live, eat, sweat, and breath Playmill it becomes a part of you forever.
A summer there is a mini year.
I mean, you celebrate the 4th of July, Halloween/Prom, Wildlife, and even Christmas there!

Maybe that's why I feel like it's Christmas Eve.

Enough of my ranting on about Playmill.
I know I know, I'm a little obsessed...
over & out!

Parting.

Once upon a time,
a girl named Shelby was planning on moving to the big Salt Lake City.
She dreamed of working at JCrew and hanging out with her sisters everyday.
The day of moving approached and her mom came down to help her pack.
They took everything out of her room and packed it into a trailer and as Shelby stared at her bare room she felt nostalgic and sad to be leaving her house, her friends and surprisingly Logan.
Shelby and her Mom sat down for a little break after moving to ease their hard working muscles when they began to communicate....
And then she decided that she didn't want to move after all so they moved all her stuff back into her room and it was as if nothing had changed!
YEP!
I'm stayin.
(Remind me to not talk about myself in 3rd person ever again)
After thinking about it, I realized that Logan is where I want to be in the summer. Although I had to move out and then in again and the in again into the room next to me, it was all worth it.

I'll be sad not to be with my sisters but hey! It's summer and I can go down whenever I want.

Now to the really sad part.
Remember how all of my roommates graduated or moved out?
It's been a week and I am missing them like crazy.
It could be the fact that I don't have a job
(hunting for one... I secretly just wanna work at the snowshack)
and that the only other person here is Ashley, my bathroommate who I love but works too.
But I think I just lucked out with great roommates.

Now... time to reflect on my 2nd year of college and my 1st year as a Shewolf.
(Yes, that's our houses name...)

Started out with Taco Bell.
