I.P.

A Manly Cabin WeekendCam Stephens

This last weekend, Cam and I and our friend Scott were invited by our friends Carl & Olivia Yeip to take a little weekend trip to their cabin in Island Park. Even though it feels like we are buried in homework and work, we decided it wouldn't be the end of the world if we forgot about that for a couple of days!

We got there late Friday night but that didn't stop us from staying up late, playing a few games and eating a whole lot of treats. Liv made some delicious crépes on Saturday morning for breakfast and then we went along with the guys and did all sorts of guy stuff.

Shooting guns, throwing tomahawks... well, Liv and I watched for the most part because it was so chilly but we got a few shots in! I won't lie,  it was entertaining enough just watching the guys together, they were like little boys.

We drove down to West Yelli for some dinner and walked around a little bit.
[Side note: I can't believe how many tourists/asians were still there. It felt like winter weather without snow. I guess I expected it to be dead because it's almost October but it was still bumpin'.]

There's just something about sitting inside a cabin next to the fireplace that is so relaxing. Even doing my homework was more enjoyable there. It was nice spending time with friends... I definitely needed that trip. We had so much fun!

...and to top off a great weekend we decided to go ahead and take some cheesy photos by the fire pit... in the middle of the day. Who doesn't love a good stock photo?

our first year

ONE YEAR! I know, it's crazy!
How has a year already come & gone right before our eyes?
I feel like it was just yesterday that I put on a white dress and married the best boyfriend ever {he still is, btw}.
To celebrate our first anniversary, Cam and I took a little road trip to Las Vegas making a few stops along the way. We didn't really have a concrete plan besides the nights that we booked in Vegas so we pretty much just did whatever our hearts desired for a week! It was so great—no work, just fun.  We love this summer in Logan but once in a while you've just gotta get out.

First of all, we kicked off our trip by digging into our frozen cake.. which we only took one bite of. haha

Our trip started by heading up to a place that is near & dear to my heart: West Yellowstone. We stopped at Mesa falls on the way and then saw Beauty and the Beast at the Playmill Theatre. This show was extra fun to watch for me because the last time the playmill put it on, I was just lucky enough to be in it :)

Then we started in the direction of Vegas but we couldn't resist a little stop at Lagoon. Neither one of us had been in a really really long time so we had been wanting to do this for a while now. Going on all the rides made me realize that my body just can't handle those crazy rides the way that it used to! At least now I know which rides to avoid.

Our next stop was St. George. We won a free rental at The Beach at Sand Hollow so we had a little night of boating, surfing and swimming with friends which was the perfect way to escape the suffocating desert heat!

{we also stopped at the narrows on our way back from Vegas, which took a little bit of a pep-talk to get through. ha!}

And then, we finally made it to Vegas where we relaxed, shopped, and ate, a lot. We also visited the Vegas sign which surprisingly neither on of us had done before.

It was so much fun to take a trip with just the both of us. It made me especially reminiscent of our honeymoon {watch here}. I am so happy and thankful every day that I married a boy who I love more and more everyday. I thought I loved him as much as I could possibly on the day I married him but I love him 365x more than that now. Even though we are not perfect people, I know that we are perfect for each other.

happy One-Year to us!

a spiel about playmill

Not that I am taking a break from my extremely busy schedule right now or anything
but it is still a long weekend and a reason to get out of town!

I'm heading up to Island park for a weekend with my family & some friends
and so so excited to go back to my home of all last summer,
West Yelli!
The Playmill Theatre opens this weekend with High School Musical and I can't wait to see it!
{If you've never been to the playmill––GO! you won't regret it}

It'll be a little bittersweet sitting in the audience after a whole summer of working there.
I might have to restrain myself from flirting with 80 year-old men and little boys during the sing-a-long.
It'll be strange to just sit back and enjoy the show without having to sell concessions or do a set change.
...alright, maybe it'll be really bittersweet.
But when you sleep, live, eat, sweat, and breath Playmill it becomes a part of you forever.
A summer there is a mini year.
I mean, you celebrate the 4th of July, Halloween/Prom, Wildlife, and even Christmas there!

Maybe that's why I feel like it's Christmas Eve.

Enough of my ranting on about Playmill.
I know I know, I'm a little obsessed...
over & out!

In the West...

I have finally settled in to West Yellowstone.
This summer I will be working at the Playmill Theatre!
I was a little nervous but everyone here is so much fun and
I love the shows that we are doing.
I have ZERO acting experience so it's definitely a challenge at times but
everyone here is extremely talented so it's easy to learn with them constantly around.

We all live in the same apartment complex and rehearse from 9am to 9pm everyday.
It's like a little family. I'm loving it so far.

Anyway....

This is what we do for fun...
